Born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina, I am Mat LeMay, a passionate traveler with a lifelong fascination for aviation. My early interest in exploring new horizons led me to pursue diverse educational opportunities, culminating in an Associate degree in Construction Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. These academic achievements have provided me with a strong foundation in project management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.

Over the course of a 20-year career at Chick-fil-A, I advanced to the role of Director of Operations. In this capacity, I led our leadership team and dedicated significant efforts to developing comprehensive training programs. My focus was on enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This experience honed my skills in team development, process optimization, and effective communication.

Following my tenure at Chick-fil-A, I served as Director of Operations at Harris Flooring. There, I was responsible for overseeing daily operations and spearheading leadership development initiatives. My role involved mentoring emerging leaders and implementing strategies to drive organizational growth. This position further refined my ability to manage complex projects and cultivate talent within the company.

Aviation has always been a personal passion, and I had the opportunity to fly with several experienced aerobatic pilots, which only deepened my love for the skies. These experiences ignited a desire to transition into the field of aviation, where I could combine my leadership skills with my enthusiasm for flight. The dynamic and challenging nature of aviation appeals to my commitment to safety, precision, and lifelong learning.

In 2023, I made the pivotal decision to pursue a career in aviation, aiming to leverage my extensive background in operations and training. I am eager to contribute to the aviation community by sharing my knowledge and passion with aspiring pilots. As a flight instructor, I am committed to providing high-quality training, emphasizing safety, and inspiring the next generation of aviators.
